Tips for Slicking Down Your Edges

The first key is moisture.
Lightly spritz your hairline with water as it will also help you manipulate the hair to how you want it to look.

Next is product application.
When you apply your products, you want to do it in layers and use a minimal amount to avoid product buildup. I recommend a dime to quarter size of each product.

  • The first layer is a light oil to lock in your moistness and add shine to your hair.
  • The second layer is a cream or lotion moisturizer to help soften and seal the hair.
  • Lastly add a light gel.

Between the different layers of products, you want to brush your hairline to ensure it lays how you want it to.

Sometimes your curls will pop right up after you brush your hair.If that happens add a little bit of gel in the area and continue to brush gently until the hair sticks a bit.

Next wrap your head scarf around your edges for at least 10 minutes to help the product dry a little and mold.

An optional step for a longer lasting hold is to add a little spritz to your hairline after it has molded then wrap it back up for another 10 minutes.

I hope these tips help you get your edges nice and slick! Please let me know how it goes!!
